Sundubu
Sundubu (or sundubu jjigae) is a popular Korean dish, which is jjigae soup with tofu. Fresh tofu, vegetables, seafood and meat are simmered in a rich red chili pepper-based soup.
Sundubu is characterized by its mellow tofu texture and spicy taste, which will warm your body.
There are many ways to make it, such as using gochujang and chicken stock, or using dashida or sundubu stock, so please enjoy it in your favorite way.
Sundubu jjigae recipe
Ingredients (for 2 people)
Silk tofu: 1 pack Chicken soup: 2 cups Garlic: 2 cloves (chopped)
Onion: 1/2 (chopped)
Gochujang : 1 tablespoon (adjust to taste)
Red chili powder: 1 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
Soy sauce: 1 tablespoon
Eggs: 1-2 Green onions: 1 (cut into small pieces)
Meat, seafood, mushrooms, etc.: as desired
How to make
- Heat the oil in a saucepan over medium heat and sauté the garlic and onion.
- When the garlic and onions become transparent, add the gochujang and red chili powder and stir-fry.
- Add chicken broth to the stir-fried ingredients and bring to a boil.
- Boil ingredients such as meat, seafood, and mushrooms.
- Add the tofu, bring to a boil, and season with soy sauce.
- When the soup comes to a boil, crack in the eggs.
- Finally, add the green onions, turn off the heat, and it's done.
